Yes, I'm lame, what else is new...this is the last one...for a while, anyway...

You all love me don't you? You do one, you get addicted, I swear. At least this one is more interactive! I've got nothing better to do. No homework this week. Do you know how wonderful and unfulfilling that is at the same time? Maybe I'll do some writing tomorrow when I'm not so tired. I stole this off of a friend's Facebook, by the way. It will probably hate me and play an assortment of Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, and Fall Out Boy...because that's the way my iPod rolls. I don't know why. I still don't have everything on it again. I also never realized how many songs I have where the title is mentioned in the first line of the song...

Guess that song..

Step 1: put your music player on shuffle
Step 2: write down the first line of the first 50 songs that play (no matter how embarrassing)
Step 2a: skip any song that has the title in the first line
Step 2b: skip any song with no lyrics.
Step 3: Strike through the line when someone guesses it right.
Step 4: looking them up is CHEATING!

1. Another day is going by, I'm thinking about you all the time

2. Blue, I'm gettin' kinda close to you, like a shadow I can't lose

3. Hey, old friend let's look back on the crazy clothes we wore

4. Got a call from an old friend, we used to be real close

5. The things we did, the things we said, keep coming back to me and make me smile again - "Never Gone," Backstreet Boys (sadly, not many people know this one)

6. Put on a scent with some attitude, put on a dress with some bite

7. Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from another you've been messin' around

8. I asked her to stay, but she wouldn't listen

9. I read the news today, oh, boy - "A Day in the Life," The Beatles (I think it played the Michael Johns version, but I don't remember and it'd be ridiculous to be petty with this one anyway)

10. There's a train out in the distance, destination still unknown

11. Take a walk, you can hardly breathe the air

12. No one to talk with, all by myself, no one to walk with, but I'm happy on a shelf

13. There is no future, there is no past

14. Since you've been gone now, honey, life ain't nothing but sad luck days

15. I saw you comin' from a mile away, tryin' to hide behind that pretty face

16. I hope you're happy, I hope you're happy now...

17. Fourth floor, lonely Juanita, sits there, starin' at the screen, types in, 'can anybody tell me what it all means?'

18. You know that it would be untrue, you know that I would be a liar - "Light My Fire"

19. Now as the summer fades, I let you slip away

20. You're such a flirt, I know you hurt

21. I never went to college, I don't have a degree

22. Where in the world have you been hiding, really you were perfect

23. Allie woke up, 8AM, graduation day

24. I am driving up 85 in the kind of morning that lasts all afternoon

25. I found a letter on my dresser last night about a baby on the way

26. Well, you went uptown riding in your limousine with your fine Park Avenue clothes

27. I open my eyes, I see your face

28. In my rearview mirror, my life is gettin' clearer

29. I always knew that I liked this place

30. It might be hard to be lovers, but it's harder to be friends

31. Hope this is the last time, 'cause I'd never say no to you - "Dead on Arrival," Fall Out Boy

32. I wanna be your Hollywood, I could be your movie star - "Resign," The Click Five

33. Rain falls hard burns dry a dream or a song that hits you so hard it's fillin' you up and suddenly gone

34. When the walls are closing in on me, and I can't find my way out

35. Love, life, one speaks for the other one here

36. I've been awake for a while now, you got me feelin' like a child now

37. I woke up it was 7, I waited 'til 11 just to figure out that no one would call

38. Well, I knew when I saw her, posin' like a popstar, in thrift store rags

39. This is who I am, and this is what I like

40. Now you're gone, I wonder why you left me here

41. There was a man back in '95 whose heart ran out of summers

42. Good news...she's dead...the witch of the west is dead!

43. Drink down that gin and kerosene - "Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner," Fall Out Boy (hullo, most obvious FOB lyric)

44. I had a roof overhead, had shoes on my feet, yeah, sure I was fed, but no one was there when I was in need

45. I'm writing you to catch you up on places I've been

46. Look, I find some of what you teach suspect

47. Deep down Louisiana, close to New Orleans

48. You tell me what you think I'm feeling

49. Where is the moment we needed the most?

50. Hello again, it's you and me, kind of always it used to be

I think it tried to call my bluff but still screwed that up. It's a better mix than last time. I suppose with 50, that will happen.

#5 is definitely a BSB song - Never Gone? I might be wrong haha

#9 - Beatles for sure - A Day In The Life?

#43 - Fall Out Boy - Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner

#18, #27, and #32 are all on the tip of my tongue. I should try again when it's not almost 5am :P

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you probably do know those three. To be honest, you probably know a good chunk of the list (and I'm thinking you should know #31, so that's slightly disappointing, but I'll let that one sit haha...looking back, this first line thing is hard, though, I've forgotten several already).

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
AHHHH #31 is Dead on Arrival, geez. I don't know how I missed it. :P

#18 is Light My Fire

#27 I'm still blanking out on but I feel like it's boybandish - maybe?

#32 is Click Five - Resign

:)

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha. I was wondering about that one.

#27 is a boyband, yes...

I'm not shocked you're the only one who has any idea. I completely forgot some now.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like something a boyband would say. Truthfully the only boyband I was ever into was BSB so if it's not them I have no idea :P

It's so weird - you could know a song backward and forward but when you see the first line of it you totally blank out.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you do have the band.

Haha, I know. I got through a lot of my friend's list, but most of it was popular songs that were always on the radio (I'm bigger on albums, which probably makes my list harder). And I have a scary good memory.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Damn I'm so close haha I'll have to go through all my BSB tracks. It's kind of embarrassing that I don't know it.

That's usually my problem too - I'm not big on top 40 but big on albums so I have trouble with other people's lists and they'd inevitably have trouble with mine.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
I was about to say...don't go looking too far back. You did catch all the BSB ones.

I know what you mean. Not to mention that it spans several decades, so there's the age issue for some people.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oddly enough I always liked that song, so it's weird that I didn't catch it for so long. I could sort of hear it in my head when I read the line, but it took forever to sort out the rest of the song. :P

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
YES I WILL!

god that took me forever - I couldn't get it until I thought of the next line, then I remembered the melody and it clicked :P
