Because I've got nothing better to do...

This is all [livejournal.com profile] westlifefan's fault. Blame her. For real. I don't really have any self-discipline when I'm doing homework. Everyone on my list should know that by now. At least I got everything done on my list tonight before I did this, right? Two iPod shuffle memes. I re-started the shuffle for the second one. I didn't tag anyone. You people are probably just annoyed it's popping up on your f-lists.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Put your iPod or other music player on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the NEXT button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS!
4. Tag friends who might enjoy doing this as well as the person you got this from. Everyone can do it. XD

I said I wasn't tagging anyone. If you really want to, knock yourself out.

IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY" YOU SAY?
"The More Boys I Meet" - Carrie Underwood (Cause that one made perfect sense.)

WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
"The Music of the Night" - Andrew Lloyd Webber (It just says Webber...it's actually Michael Crawford...Best. Phantom. Ever. Move over Gerry Butler. ...this one doesn't make sense either...)

WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"Dancing Through Life" from Wicked - Norbert Leo Butz (In reality, I think I'd smack someone who was like this.)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
Les Amoureux Des Bancs Publics" - Various Artists (I can't remember who sings it...it says at the beginning! That translates to "The Lovers of the Public Bank" by the way...)

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
"Peron's Latest Flame" from Evita - Antonio Banderas (...wow...)

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
"New York State of Mind" - Billy Joel

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OFTEN?
"I Know" - Drake Bell (That was actually a pretty decent answer for what the shuffle is supposed to come up with.)

WHAT IS 2+2?
"Saturday" - Fall Out Boy

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
"Movin' Out" - Billy Joel (I think this thing's broken...)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Love Heals" - Cast of Rent (*throws iPod at the wall*)

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"We Rule the Night" - Bon Jovi (LMAO!)

WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"So Long" - Constantine Maroulis (Rather than say why this makes no sense, I should probably be explaining why I have Constantine on my iPod...)

WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"Help" - The Beatles (Very funny.)

WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
Evidently Joe Trohman's manifesto...what the hell is that doing on my iPod???
How about "Friday Night" - The Click Five instead? :P

WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"She's A Mystery" - Bon Jovi

WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"So Emotional" - Christina Aguilera (This might be stranger than Joe Trohman's manifesto...)

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
"Candle in the Wind" - Elton John

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
"Another Bear" from Finding Neverland - Jan A.P. Kaczmarek

WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?
"The One That Got Away" - Bon Jovi (Hey, one that makes sense!)

HOW WILL YOU DIE?
"Without Love" from Hairspray - Zac Efron, Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelly, & Amanda Bynes

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU REGRET?
"Love Song for No One" - John Mayer

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?
"America's Suitehearts" - Fall Out Boy

WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?
"Mystery Train" - Bon Jovi

WILL YOU EVER GET MARRIED?
"The Take Over, The Break's Over" - Fall Out Boy (Wouldn't you rather be a widow than a divorcee? ...that doesn't answer the question, boys...though, I suppose it makes more sense than a majority of the answers here, which, is also pretty sad.)

WHAT SCARES YOU THE MOST?
"Low" - Kelly Clarkson

DOES ANYONE LIKE YOU?
"Mixtape" - Butch Walker (Must have, if they gave me the best mixtape I have, then again...of course if I'm wishing that there was more than that about me and whoever it is...I'm going to go stop being lame now.)

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?
"Bad Day" - Daniel Powter (Had a lot of those...)

WHAT HURTS RIGHT NOW?
"Piano Man" - Billy Joel

WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS?
"The New Girl in Town" from Hairspray - Brittany Snow

The rules:
Put your music player of choice on shuffle and answer these questions with the first line(s) of the song.

1. If you were to see a ghost, you'd scream..."Well you done done me in your bed I felt it." ("I'm Yours" - Jason Mraz) Must have been a hot ghost.

2. If you were to write an autobiography, you'd call it..."Don't go breaking my heart." ("Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John & Kiki Dee) I'm going to go crawl under a rock now...

3. You get a letter from a secret admirer that reads..."I never asked for this or planned it in advance." ("Wonderful" from Wicked - Joel Grey) That's actually kind of cute.

4. In a job interview you're always sure to tell the manager..."Sometimes I want to quit this all and become an accountant now." ("The (Shipped) Gold Standard" - Fall Out Boy) Ha! Wonder what the response to that would be.

5. When you arrive at the pearly gates in the sky you say..."I'll take you just the way you are." ("Declaration" - David Cook)

6. If you were a superhero, your catch phrase would be..."Dressed up for a big date like Halloween Day, but it was Fourth of July now." ("Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars" - Bon Jovi)

7. When somebody offers you drugs you decline by saying..."I don't expect my love affairs to last for long." ("Another Suitcase in Another Hall" from Evita - Madonna)

8. While stuck in traffic you read a strange bumper sticker that states..."I've been knockin', so come to your front door." ("Headlight Disco" - The Click Five) Hey, I'd go to my front door for Kyle any day... :X

9. Hmm... "Didn't want to see it end this way." ("River Runs Dry" - Bon Jovi)

10. When a bully insults you, your comeback is..."I'm flat on the floor with my head down low where the sky can't rain on me anymore." ("Flat on the Floor" - Carrie Underwood) Sadly, this must have been the best one yet.

11. When you win a game of ping pong you shout..."Bobby's driving through the city tonight through the lights in a hot new rent-a-car." ("Say Goodbye to Hollywood" - Billy Joel) I'm trying to think of ANY situation where it would be appropriate to shout that...except for during drunk Billy Joel karaoke.

12. So what exactly makes you so awesome..."Don't you want to go for a ride, just keep your hands inside, and make the most out of life, now don't you take it for granted." ("This Is How A Heart Breaks" - Rob Thomas)

13. After making out, you tell your sweetheart..."I got questions for you, you've got answers untrue." ("Straight Ahead" - David Cook) Talk about a dysfunctional relationship.

14. If you're the valedictorian of your school, you open your valedictory speech with..."Maybe it's intuition, but some things you just don't question.". ("I Knew I Loved You" - Savage Garden) It was the French song again...I only skipped it because he sings really fast, and I haven't figured that one out yet...

15. Describe your best friend..."Ludicrous! Have you seen the score! Simply ludicrous! It's the final straw!" ("Notes/Twisted Every Way" - Phantom of the Opera Original Cast) Actually...

16. When you're angry, you like to scream..."I miss the sound of your voice." ("Come on Get Higher" - Matt Nathanson) Uh...

17. What you say to ask for forgiveness from someone you've hurt..."St. Jimmy's coming down across the alleyway." ("St. Jimmy" - Green Day) Ooookaaaaay

18. How you express your feelings to your crush..."The power of love is a curious thing, make one man weep, make another man sing." ("The Power of Love" - Huey Lewis and the News) Teehee. That one actually would be an interesting opening.

19. How you introduce yourself to people..."Someday we'll all get started, someday we'll have what we wanted, someday we'll want what's better, someday we'll all live forever.". ("Someday" - Plain White T's)

20. When asking for directions, you start the question with..."I'm walking on clouds now, and the sky is falling all down." ("Possibilities" - Teddy Geiger) The odds that you'll actually get a song with a question in the first line...

My iPod is biased, by the way. In case you couldn't tell from the overabundance of FOB and Bon Jovi...well, maybe BJ isn't so weird for me.

This is the first season I've ever agreed this much with Paula. I think they know Matt is good, but he's sometimes not as memorable as Adam, Lil, or Danny, so this is his boost.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
She does seem to be on target with her comments. I think that's true about Matt. He reminds me a little of Jon McLaughlin, and he's easy to forget too because he isn't as "different" I suppose. Matt doesn't have a story either, which just adds to that.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
It's a shame because a good singer shouldn't need a story, but on Idol they do help differentiate between the contestants. Lil hasn't really done all that well the past two weeks though, in my opinion...

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. Even with Adam who doesn't really have a story...everyone knows he's the weird theater guy. Matt is the piano player, but not the blind one. I feel bad for Lil, country week pretty much screwed her over. Last week could have been better, though.

And this week is top 100 iTunes downloads. That sounds like it has the potential to be great or a mess.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of Scott, I don't think he's very good at all :X It's pretty clear that he's probably skating by because he's blind. Lil sort of didn't do so great last week either, and I was expecting a lot from her with a theme like that. Maybe I expected too much?

iTunes week is going to be very interesting. The first thing that popped into my head is Kris and Jason Mraz haha

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so either. Decent piano player, but he isn't a singer. I think he's still in it for the same reason. I'm not sure about Lil. I think she just has that huge belt, and if you're not careful with it, it can hurt you. And last week, it did.

I can definitely see that one. I hope he does. Somewhere I read that Adam wanted to sing "Don't Stop Believin'" at one point on the show, and it's on the 100 list. I'm scared.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I definitely give him lots of credit for playing that well, but yeah, his voice. Not so great. I think Lil's song choices haven't been so hot as well.

Oh no. I heard somewhere that someone thought Danny should sing that, but I hope no one does. That's the kind of song that should be left alone.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Most of the time, he sounds like he's shouting the lyrics. She hasn't made very good song choices. I don't know why she sang the songs she did. Unless she lost a couple of hat picks or something.

I'd rather have Danny do it than Adam, if it needs to be done. I hope it doesn't need to be done. I don't think anyone in the group could do it justice.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
He doesn't have very good vocal control either. I mean, he's better than a lot of people I'm sure but it's not nearly good enough to win. I hope she lost hat picks, because if she picked some of those then blechhhh. No good.

Me too. But yeah, I agree. Let's hope no one does it.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
That's true too. I really think he just got through on his story. I don't say that to be a horrible person, but it wouldn't be the first time. Oh, I know. "Independence Day"? Come on.

The problem is, though, that everything else is Katy Perry or Kanye West. Then again, anyone singing Katy Perry would be better than Katy Perry, so I'm OK with that.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
It's inspirational and all, but that's about it. Yeah, Independence Day was a real blowout. :X

True! Ugh. I actually do like Kanye sometimes but his music doesn't suit Idol. How about Adam doing Katy? hahaha

ps: great layout, love the pics!

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're right about that. I mean, Stevie Wonder is a legend, but he's got a good voice too. Not to mention Carrie Underwood sang it when she was on the show.

That would certainly bring new meaning to "I kissed a girl, and I liked it."

Thanks. They were too adorable to not do anything with them.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Same with Ray Charles. His voice was good. Ahh, yes. I thought she had but had forgotten - I didn't care for her much during her season so I blocked a lot of her performances out :P

He'd have to change the words, lol

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's another one. She's one of the few country singers I can tolerate. That song was the b-side to her Idol single. Out of all the songs she sang, they chose that one.

That would probably put him in the bottom 3 pretty quick.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's kind of a weird choice for a b-side, isn't it?

LMAO I didn't even think of that. Yeah, it definitely would, I'm sure there are people who are still denying he's gay.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It was. I wondered why they didn't use a really good one like "Alone" or something.

Or don't realize it. I remember telling my mom, "No, really, he's gay." "But just because he does theater..." "He sang Cher." "Oh."

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alone" was great. That one I actually do remember.

Haha. See to me it's obvious but I guess it's not to everyone. Oh, I just read that Danny Gokey's grandfather died over the weekend or something. Wonder if he's going to address that or not?

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
See, now, they should have used that one. I think they were trying to establish her as country, though.

It's obvious to me too. I read that too. I did wonder about it. It was really recent, so it's going to be a touchy subject. I'd hope they wouldn't push it.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree, on both counts. But it really was the better song - and I don't like country, so that might be why I think that.

I'm glad they didn't bring it up. Your boy got the closing spot! Great performance too, he really deserved it.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like it either, and I'm sure that's why I say that. I think I only listen to her because I followed her on the show.

So am I. Oh, I was so happy when I realized Adam was #8. Switching instruments shows how musical he is too. ...and he was ahead of Adam on DialIdol this week. XD

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes sense. I think I preferred Bo over her that season but my favorites were all long gone by the finale.

For a minute I thought Adam was going last but I was so happy he didn't. Oooh I forgot to check Dial Idol, going to do that right now.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine were gone too. I ended up not caring who won, as long as it wasn't Scott.

He's gone last a couple of times, hasn't he? As impressed as I was with him last week, that was an odd song choice this week (and screechy came back)...I think Taylor did it before, but that was Taylor.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I did go to the AI tour that year though for some reason - I guess because I liked most of the guys.

Has he? I can't remember for some reason haha. Screechy was definitely back in full force. I wouldn't have picked that song at all if I were him, but I guess it didn't hurt him. Thank god Megan is gone. She was extra nasty last night, it seemed.

[identity profile] street-symphony.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
It was a good season overall too. The guys were definitely good that year, though.

I know he did in the top 36. I don't know why he thinks the screeching is a good idea. Then he started doing it during "Don't Stop Believin'" last night. Megan has gone downhill. I really couldn't figure out what was going through her head.

[identity profile] holly-hox-1985.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
They were. There weren't any major standouts, but overall they were really entertaining.

I feel TERRIBLE for saying this but since they apparently lipsync the group numbers now...they have to do something about Scott. When he was lipsynching he totally missed the mic because he can't see it. I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. I'll go to hell for that I'm sure, but I couldn't help it. :P

It just seemed like she progressively got more adamant about things. She was way out of it this week though, with the "cawing" and the defiance and all.
